NCYP 131: Creatures in Clay (Grades 3-5) $346.00
Grades 3-5 People from every part of the world use clay to create magical and secretive vessels, special guardians, protective figures, mythological creatures, small models, and portraits of everyday life. In this course students will travel the world visiting other time periods and places by looking at the art and artifacts of different cultures. Students will develop their skills and learn new techniques for working with clay.

NCYP 152: Sculptural Forms in Nature (Grades K-2) $346.00
Grade K-2: Artists have always been awed and inspired by the variety and beauty in nature. In this class, students have the opportunity to take a closer look at the world out of doors to develop ideas for three-dimensional artworks. Students examine the bounty of flora and fauna by exploring the grounds of the St Pauls campus .They create fantastic flowers, invented insects, and amazing animals inspired by Mother Nature. A variety of materials are explored and students keep a sketchbook/journal for their notes and observations and to develop ideas from their sculptural forms.

NCYP 168: Art and Community (Grades K-2) $346.00
Grade K-2: Art is a way for us to connect with our community. Looking at art work by contemporary artists in Baltimore students in this course students will use painting techniques and collage to explore the relationship between people, memory and place. Students will create work about the places people go in their community, draw and paint their favorite memories of their community and use imaginative thinking to develop new areas in their community that people can enjoy.

Grades 3-5: Students in this class use a variety of fabrics and fibers for creating artworks. Students explore stitching, weaving, tie-dye, and natural dye techniques, as well as combinations of created and found materials in creating their art. Students will examine the techniques of artists such as Xenobia Bailey, Rosie Lee Tompkins, Faith Ringgold, Joyce Scott, and Melissa S. Cody and will use fabrics and fibers as a means of creative expression.

NCYP 240: Fashion Drawing 101 (Grades 6-8) $346.00
Grade 6-8: This course teaches students the fundamentals of drawing the croquis figure and designing a garment through sketching. Students will explore personal identity and style through fashion. Through sketching the figure and gaining techniques in drawing garments, students will learn different mediums and experiment with rubbing techniques to give the effect of various types of fabric while growing their technical skills in drawing and painting.

NCYP 279: Digital Photography (Grades 6-8) $346.00
Grades 6-8 Beginning with an understanding of compositional principles and the basic camera functions, features, and possibilities, students learn to create digital photographs. From a variety of prompts intended to tap into students' interpretation and experience of the visual world around them, students collect imagery in their daily lives, at home, and outdoors. As the course progresses, the class explores the Adobe Photoshop program as a tool to refine images and explore options in manipulating imagery for expressive purposes. Note: Students must have their own digital camera (phone or tablet camera or DSLR). Access to the Adobe Creative Suite is included for the duration of this course.
