Course Description

Location: St. Paul's. Grades 9-12: The mark of a great artist can be found in their ability to explore, sustain, and deepen an original idea through a body of work. In this class, artists will work through a reflective process that focuses on developing a rich central idea that can be explored into a variety of specific inquiries from one piece to the next. Artists gain strategies for unifying their series as well as offering something new with each work, while pairing visual, verbal, and written expression.

NCSP 307: Drawing from Observation (Grades 9-12) $375.00

Course Description

Location: St. Paul's. Grades 9-12: This course is designed to help students refine their skills in observational drawing and painting, making purposeful choices about lines, form, and color. Students will experiment with materials as they learn to make decisive lines and cohesive color palettes and apply both realistic and expressive colors to their pieces. Art exemplars will be used to emphasize the incredible diversity of styles and expressiveness that can be achieved with color, line, and texture.
