Course Description

SCHEDULE INCLUDES - Morning Class-time: 9:30 am - 12 noon; Supervised Mid-day Activities 12 noon - 1:00 pm; Afternoon Class-time 1:00 - 3:30 pm
Wearable Art and Sustainable Design
Grades 9-12: Students in this class use a variety of fabrics and fibers for creating artworks. Students explore stitching, weaving, tie-dye, and natural dye techniques, as well as combinations of created and found materials in creating their art. Students will examine the techniques of artists such as Xenobia Bailey, Rosie Lee Tompkins, Faith Ringgold, Joyce Scott, and Melissa S. Cody and will use fabrics and fibers as a means of creative expression.
